About Us
Who We Are
It has been over 20 years since a support group for caregivers was established in Cranbrook by Mental Health, Continuing Care and Home Support Services. In 2003, thanks to the foresight of Interior health, we were given a grant to set up an East Kootenay wide Caregivers Network with support groups in six of the largest communities and a toll free number for telephone support and information for the whole area. An executive director oversees and mentors six community facilitators and works closely with the volunteer board of directors. In 2009, we became the Caregivers Network for East Kootenay Seniors Society. A registered not for profit society. The board of the society meets four times per year in Cranbrook. Through the dedication of the facilitators, the executive director and the board, invaluable support is provided to caregivers in the East Kootenay region.

Our Mission
The Caregivers Network for East Kootenay Seniors recognizes that caring for seniors can be challenging and hard work. Recognizing this need, our not-for profit organization strives to provide support for caregivers of seniors who live in the East Kootenay. The Caregivers Network has been serving and supporting caregivers for over 20 years through our toll free telephone support line and our support groups for caregivers in six of the largest communities throughout the East Kootenay region. The Caregivers Network for East Kootenay Seniors believes that emotional support, information about community resources and help to navigate the system are essential to a caregiver’s well-being. Moreover, by looking after the caregivers, we are contributing to the safety and betterment of seniors in our community as a whole.
